It had to happen. We all knew it would. Finally Crikey Croc and the red car were brought to a sudden stop by a tree. I suppose it was the tree's fault for getting in the way. Or maybe it was the grass's fault for being slippery.
Anyway Dr. Beak was prepared for such an event, and headed off to see if Crikey was OK. He was used to this sort of problem. One time he had to rescue Crikey from the rocks at the Barnacle Bay Headland after he had crashed a fishing boat he'd 'accidentally' climbed into.
Of course at the sight of Crikey's teeth, the fishermen had all jumped into the ocean for some reason. Crikey thought that he should try and rescue them so he started the motor which took off so quickly he fell back on the tiller and steered straight towards the rocks. You can guess what happened.
Anyway, there was relief across the district when the sound of the screaming engine suddenly stopped, and peace and quiet was restored. Apart from bird calls there was just the sound of somebody trying to start a motor somewhere over the hill. There was a suggestion that it might be Ratcop who was missing from the GollyGum Police Station at the time.
Dr. Beak made his way to the crash site, with his medical bag bursting at the seams with tools and potions. A few of the more sensitive folk hoped that Crikey would not need too much 'treatment' at the hands of the good doctor.
